Reading your piece drove home a realization for me. While I have always strongly identified with my Jewish identity, like Hurwitz, I have thought of Jews who do say daily prayers or strictly follow the dietary laws as "more Jewish" than my family. Yet, my parents impressed upon me from my earliest age the values of tzedakah, giving in anonymity, and creating a world in which all people can have dignity. I appreciate the Christian perspective on these essential Jewish practices. Thanks for the article and I look forward to more.
